Finch Therapy Assessment
No two people have the same joint, muscular or nervous system dysfunction – even if they do have the same symptoms. Specially trained Finch Therapists will assess your body to identify the most effective treatment and course of action to obtain the fastest possible way to reduce your pain.
Finch Therapy assessment protocol is a comprehensive and painless assessment. Findings from this assessment form a template for your treatment regime. Improper neuro-musculoskeletal assessment can lead to the delay or prevention of your treatment results. It is important to visit only a qualified Finch Therapist.
Relieving painful symptoms is important, however, it is only part of the picture. Without correct identification and treatment of the cause of your dysfunction, reoccurrence is likely to happen.
Origin Of Pain
To gain sufficient information to establish the origin of pain, it is necessary to assess individual portions of the body to complete the picture of the whole musculoskeletal function of body.
For example, the presenting symptom might be a painful elbow; to assess purely just the arm or neck portion gives only a small piece of the puzzle. Whilst it is possible the symptoms might be generated from stiff neck joints, as Finch Therapists our job is to identify why the neck joints are stiff, to trace the original source of the problem and correct it to prevent it from reoccurring.
As already established, the origins of your symptoms might be from a different region of the body which is linked by myofascial slings.
Orthopaedic testing for joint range of movement such as shoulder, hip and spine are carried out as part of the assessment for Finch Therapy. Pelvic function, leg length differences and spine mobility give much of the information needed to identify the primary cause of the pain and dysfunction.
Combining this assessment information and putting the pieces of the puzzle together allows for more accurate results from your treatment.
